Bad Day

Yesterday was a bad day....not only did we wake up to 8+ inches of snow, but when I went to leave the house in the morning, I missed the last step to the sidewalk because it was totally snow covered and went down flat on my back into the snow...almost like I was ready to make a snow angel!  My purse and keys went flying and I twisted my ankle/foot and couldn't get up...thank goodness my son was coming out the door!  After getting me up off the ground, we searched for my keys...it was hard to find them in the deep snow, but eventually we did.  I was totally soaked from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet on the back of me.  Thank goodness I was just taking him to work and was coming right back home.

So, the foot has been iced, has had icy/hot slathered on it, and has been wrapped in an ace bandage....but it still hurts extremely bad!  The only shoes I can get on right now with the ace wrap is a pair of flip flops...can't wear flip flops when there is snow on the ground and the temps are in the 20s!!!

Monday, Monday

President's Day....do you go shopping for any sales?  I used to love going for the sales, but with not being employed, I need to be much more frugal with the money I do have.  I did go to JoAnn's the other day and pick up some beads that were on sale, and used my extra 10% off coupon....didn't cost much at all, and I will make a wonderful summer necklace out of what I bought!  Here's what I bought:

Ribbon Scarf

Well, completed the scarf I was making from the ribbon yarn.  I wish that I would have done it knitting the short way instead of the long way.  I would have made it wider and longer.  Not sure I will ever wear this one, but at least I know that I don't like that pattern I found!  Will try to get a picture of it up here soon.

On another note....this weather is great!  50s today and 60's the next two....then back to reality.  This is just a little tease of spring for us....waiting for the temps to stay in 50s/60s and for Spring to arrive!

Crafty Saturday

Was digging through my yarn stash today trying to think of what I could make with what I have....hate going out and buying more when I already have too much at home!  So, I found this ribbon yarn in a fall color and since I only had two skeins of it, knew I couldn't do anything big with it.  Searched Ravelry and found a scarf pattern that uses this ribbon yard, and only uses one skein.  It's knit on size 13 needles and you cast on 150 stitches.  It is knit the long way instead of the short way.  Only need to knit 11 rows, so this should be a quick project.  Here's the start of the project....two rows done!

Old Man Winter

Old Man Winter can leave anytime...the sooner the better!  I know that living in Southwestern PA we have snow and cold until April, but right now, I have had enough!!!  I am longing for the sunny and warm days of summer and beach vacations!  So, I guess that I will just have to look at this picture I took last February on a vacation to sunny Southern California, and it will have to satisfy me until I can visit the beach again in person.
